A time for cautious thoughts and actions!

In the growing Syrian conflict, aggression has been met with aggression. Old animosities and rivalries which have long lay buried between Russia and Turkey have recently been exacerbated by the shooting down of a SU-24 which had "Supposedly" transgressed through Turkish Airspace.

It is with profound regret we view this situation. With war there is no such thing as a winner.

From our Prince:

"Regarding the Russia-Turkey incident: Rheinbergen asks both parties to restrain from actions and judgement before all facts have been established and verified. Let's not get into any actions that could start larger conflicts."

Paris, France 11/13/2015

From:  HSH Gerard, Fürst von und zu Rheinbergen ~ HSH Gerard, Sovereign Prince of Rheinbergen

I speak to you today of the sad events in France.

Humanity as a whole has to stand up against the madness of extremism in every direction. We shall not give into despair, and we shall stand united in our resolve to not give up our freedom out of fear and suspicion. We must fight the darkness of barbarism with the beacon of light humanity offers in the worst of times. We will fight extremism and hate with love and determination.

Fear is not an option. Strengthen your hearts, take comfort in the fact you're not alone. We support the actions to prosecute criminals and terrorists. We do not support prosecuting innocents to pay for the wages of extremists.-That way is madness and would only profit and help those who have done these terrible deeds.

Do not despair. We support you.
